Hardis Group, a digital services company and software publisher, today announced the availability of Reflex RF for Android, a mobile application to be installed on the new radio frequency terminals on Android, now offered by major manufacturers in the sector. With Reflex RF for Android, warehouse operators will have more intuitive touch-screens to perform their missions. Based on the latest web standards, it simplifies updates of the RF terminal facility and opens the way to new and innovative uses.

Ergonomic screens for managing warehouse processes

While smartphones have invaded everyday life, so-called "hardened" terminals, specially designed for hostile environments or intensive use, have been slower to evolve. Now included in the catalogs of major specialized manufacturers, RF devices running on Android are both more powerful and intuitive to use than their predecessors in character mode.

In line with this hardware evolution, Hardis Group has developed Reflex RF for Android. This native application can be used to manage all warehouse processes such as reception, entry into storage, preparation, shipping and inventory on this new generation of mobile devices. Its graphical touch-screen interface, based on the latest Web standards (J2EE, WebSocket), reduces the time required for operators to learn to use it.

Lower running costs and new mobile uses

Reflex RF for Android can be downloaded directly from the WMS Reflex private store. It requires almost no installation procedure: scanning a QR code is all that is required to make the application operational on the RF terminal.

The new Android application helps reduce the total cost of ownership of mobile devices: besides their very much simplified installation, Android terminals communicate with Reflex WMS using a simple wireless connection, which allows companies to do away with maintenance costs of third-party software (emulators and graphics display offset software), which were formerly needed to run the applications used.

The application is proposed with iso-functionality as compared to the old version, and should gradually expand to offer new uses: adding photos to a folder, digital signatures, or association of the mobile device with connected devices in the warehouse.
